The Stations of the Cross are meant to be a devotional experience grounding participants in the story of Christ’s passion. There are fourteen stations each depicting a scene from the final hours of Christ’s life. Traditionally, participants physically move from station to station praying and reflecting on the meaning of Christ’s sacrifice. The Stations in this video take viewers on two journeys: one through the death of Christ and another through the violence that has broken out across Syria. Each station incorporates images from the Syrian uprising and as the video moves through the stations a historical chronology of the unrest in Syria emerges.
The background music is the Lord’s Prayer being chanted.
