It is with deep sadness that I heard about the death of a powerful aymara woman, whom I admired so much. Maria Chaves Quispe was the head of the indigenous people office of the World Council of Churches and dedicated her life to the struggles of women and indigenous people of the world . A generous and fierce woman with so much wisdom. I met her in 2009 in El Salvador for a gathering of indigenous people of the Americas and saw how important she was for the struggle of the indigenous people and all of us. we say goodbye to her with tears of sadness and joy for all she offered us during her brief life. May Pachamama receive her and fertilize her dreams, fights and love.
