A bed at the end of the world – Meditations on Psalm 139

A bed at the end of the world

for somebody

A bed at the end of the world

when things are out of place

A bed at the end of the world

when feelings overflow our hearts

A bed at the end of the world

and our thoughts can’t stop

A bed at the end of the world

with clean sheets/soft textures

A bed at the end of the world

for tired/broken/sick  bodies

A bed at the end of the world

when there is no energy

A bed at the end of the world

for the lovely ones

A bed at the end of the world

for the storm, the hurricane, the weapons of mass destruction

A bed at the end of the world

for the dog, the cat, the sparrow, the elephant

A bed at the end of the world

for the book, the guitar, the song, the fan

A bed at the end of the world

for the rubbing of the feet

A bed at the end of the world

for the eyes to close

A bed at the end of the world

as the l-on(e)ly company

A bed at the end of the world

a comfort, a nuclear bomb shelter

A bed at the end of the world

as the hope to arrive/for the arrivant

A bed at the end of the world

to wait

A bed at the end of the world

to play, to jump, to fill with kids

A bed at the end of the world

to eat each other, for the waste of our bodies

A bed at the end of the world

for the many positions of sex

A bed at the end of the world

to get some rest

A bed at the end of the world

even to sleep

A bed at the end of the world

to dream

A bed at the end of the world

as a reminder

A bed at the end of the world

as if we were laying in the palms of God’s hand
